Posto un paio di video degli Iron Maiden perchè non possono mancare e per me significano più di qualcosa
Iron Maiden - Phantom of the opera
I've been looking so long for you now you won't get away from my grasp.
You've been living so long in hiding in hiding behind that false mask.
And you know and I know that you ain't got long now to last.
Your looks and your feelings are just the remains of your past.
You're standing in the wings, there you wait for the curtain to fall.
Knowing the terror and holding you have on us all.
Yeah, I know that you're gonna scratch me, maim me and maul.
You know I'm helpless from your mesmerising cat call.
Keep your distance, walk away, don't take his bait.
Don't you stray, don't fade away.
Watch your step, he's out to get you, come what may.
Don't you stray, from the narrow way.
I'm running and hiding in my dreams you're always there.
You're the Phantom of the Opera, you're the devil, you're just out to scare.
You damaged my mind and my soul it just floats through the air.
Haunt me, you taunt me, you torture me back at your lair.
Iron Maiden - Rime of the ancient mariner
Hear the rime of the Ancient Mariner
See his eye as he stops one of three
Mesmerises one of the wedding guests
Stay here and listen the nightmares
of the Sea.
And the music plays on, as the bride passes by
Caught by his spell and
the Mariner tells his tale.
Driven south to the land of the snow and ice
To a place where nobody's been
Through the snow fog flies on the albatross
Hailed in God's name,
hoping good luck it brings.
And the ship sails on, back to the North
Through the fog and ice and
the albatross follows on
The mariner kills the bird of good omen
His shipmates cry against what he's done
But when the fog clears, they justify him
And make themselves a part of the crime.
Sailing on and on and North across the sea
Sailing on and on and North 'til all is calm
The albatross begins with its vengeance
A terrible curse a thirst has begun
His shipmates blame bad luck on the Mariner
About his neck, the dead bird is hung.
And the curse goes on and on at sea
And the curse goes on and on for them and me.
"Day after day, day after day,
we stuck nor breath nor motion
As idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean
Water, water everywhere and
all the boards did shrink
Water, water everywhere nor any drop to drink."
[SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE(1798-1834)]
There, calls the Mariner,
there comes a ship over the line
But how can she sail with no wind
in her sails and no tide.
See...onward she comes
Onward she nears, out of the sun
See...she has no crew
She has no life, wait but there's two.
Death and she Life in Death.
they throw their dice for the crew
She wins the Mariner and he belong to her now.
Then...crew one by one
They drop down dead, two hundred men
She...She Life in Death.
She lets him live, her chosen one.
[Narrative]
"One after one by the star dogged moon,
too quick for groan or sigh
each turned his face with a ghastly pang,
and cursed me with his eye
four times fifty living men
(and I heard nor sigh nor groan),
with heavy thump, a lifeless lump,
they dropped down one by one."
[SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE (1798-1834)]
The curse it lives on in their eyes
The Mariner he wished he'd die
Along with the sea creatures
But they lived on, so did he.
And by the light of the moon
He prays for their beauty not doom
With heart he blesses them
God's creatures all of them too.
Then the spell starts to break
The albatross falls from his neck
Sinks down like lead into the Sea
Then down in falls comes the rain.
Hear the groans of the long dead seamen
See them stir and they start to rise
Bodies lifted by good spirits
None of them speak
and they're lifeless in their eyes.
And revenge is still sought, penance starts again
Cast into a trance and the nightmare carries on.
Now the curse is finally lifted
And the Mariner sights his home
Spirits go from the long dead bodies
Form their light and
the Mariner's left alone.
And then a boat came sailing towards him
It was a joy he could not believe
The Pilot's boat, his son and the hermit.
Penance of life will fall onto Him.
And the ship it sinks like lead into the sea
And the hermit shrieves the mariner of his sins.
The Mariner's bound to tell of his story
To tell his tale wherever he goes
To teach God's word by his own example
That we must love all things that God made.
And the wedding guest's a sad and wiser man
And the tale goes on and on and on...and on
Carcass - Corporal Jigsore Quandary
Excised and anatomised, deviscerated disarray
The torso diverged with pride
Deftly amputated, evulsed limbs now defunct
The trunk imbrued, tatty stumps used as lugs
For a chondrin puzzle so quaint
Head and body decollate
A heaving mass so quiescent...
Scattered and scrambled, your teasement grows
- A bloody caricature to make whole
A squirming grisly jigsaw, detrital fragments fit so snug
- That missing piece will leave you stumped
Totally desassembled, nicely sliced and diced
- A cold mannequin once resembled
Real cranium teaser, carved from flesh and bone
- So mystifying...
Battered and diffused, with placating blows
- A human jigsaw to make whole
A sequacious pattern which once fitted so snug
- Joining together each dubious lump
Ravaged disassembly, neatly cubed and diced
- A cold mannequin reassembled
Astute brain teaser, incorporate flesh and bone
So mortifying...
An incessant game - methodically made
With each cumulative piecing - of commensated meat...
Bi-manual reconstruction, eldritch problem complete
A convented effigy
A pathological toy, each chunk rigorously
Inter mortis locking, as you pathogenically rot
Such a perplexing task
To fit the remains in the casket
Uliginous mess so quiescent...

An incessant game - methodically made
With each cumulative piece - of commensated meat...
Overkill - Elimination
terminal, what disease
told me too late
what's this cough and wheeze
fatal, you're shittin' me
a second opinion
is what I need
laughin' in a windstorm
blowin' all the cornstalks down
cryin' in a funeral home
forward my mail, six feet underground
elimination
contagious, say why not
not just me
waitin' to rot
painful, yeah I know
when I had to go
i'm yankin' on my plug
and I can't seem to get it loose
pullin' all the stops
your ideals change. when you got
nothing to loose.
elimination
eliminate the right
eliminate the wrong
eliminate the weak
eliminate the strong
eliminate your feelings
eliminate too late
eliminate the hope
eliminate, eliminate
if I had just one more day
i'd turn it all around
i'd make a play of good, clean livin'
and dig me out of the ground
and if I had just one more day
i'd say it to your face
pull the plug on everyone
eliminate this race.
we want to cure
and we want it now.
reissue hope
we don't eare how
you're makin' a mess
diseasin' a nation
runaway train to elimination
hopeless there's no doubt
set on a slow burn
from the inside out
carefully say what for
last one out
closes the coffin door
spendin' all you saved
and wishin' for a little more
if i'm lookin' at the ceilin'
then I must be layin' on the floor.
terminal, what disease
told me too late
what's this cough and wheeze
fatal... you're shittin' me
a second opinion
there's gotta be
laughin' at the epidemic
something is going around
crying at the epidemic
pullin' on nails, six feet underground.
